Summerhill: Freedom to Learn

April 6 - 8

The Freedom to Learn Forum is an annual festival, celebrating humanity in education, bringing together progressive educators, families and other pioneers to showcase and inspire unique learning communities governed by equality, freedom, and collaboration. This year's forum will take place from the 6th-8th April 2018 at Summerhill School in Leiston. This is a child-friendly event; we welcome participation from children and young people, and there will be activities and plenty of space for play.

Arrival date can be either the evening of 31 July or morning of 1 August. Departure date should be the 7th of August but we will plan some after-conference activities and excursions at the nearby beaches and places of natural or cultural interest.

InDEC - India Democratic Education Conference

November 15 - 20

This will be the 3rd APDEC (Asia Pacific Democratic Education Community), the 25th IDEC and the first InDEC (Indian Democratic Education). The conferences will be held consecutively at the ECC (Ecumenical Christian Centre), in Bangalore. There are plans for tours and trips before and after he conferences. Each trip will probably include an education project, a heritage/tourist site and a visit to a natural environment. There will be local trips to schools and education programmes, in and around Bangalore during the conference days.
