'I love my wormy book daddy', my four year old daughter said to me one evening. We'd only had it a few days, so I wasn't sure if she was just being cute, but no, it turns out she really did love it!

The story was engrossing and the illustrations are great fun too, with plenty for the kids to spot and describe.

It reminded me of The Goonies, a 1985 film about kids going underground on a treasure hunt to save their home from being demolished for a golf course.

The Worms that Saved the World, though, is not about salvation in a treasure chest, it's about how collective direct action gets the goods.
